A SECOND edition of a shopping guide, promoting the unique range of retailers in Darlington, produced by Darlington Town Centre Management has been launched.

The ‘unique’ brochure promoting the independent retailers in the town centre has been distributed to over 26,000 homes in the region, with a further 5,000 available in Darlington from the shops featured, as well as the Tourist Information Centre.

The brochure also includes information about an exclusive members’ card scheme, where those who apply for the free card get discounts of between 5-25% and other unique offers, at participating retailers. The new guide is colour coded, to help people new to the town find their way around.

The town centre shops are determined to fight back against the recession and are using the guide to promote their businesses to existing, as well as new customers from across the region.

Town Centre Manager, Christine Kavanagh, said: “The unique guides are a really important part of the retailers’ and our plans for helping them to fight this recession. We want to make sure people across the region know what we have here and how special the mix of independent shops is in Darlington. They won’t get the same retails experience anywhere else.”
